How We're Funded

RAND is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Our research is sponsored by U.S. government agencies; non-U.S. governments, agencies, and ministries; international organizations; U.S. state and local governments; colleges and universities; foundations; industry; professional associations; and other nonprofit organizations.

In addition, we rely on philanthropic support to reach beyond the scope of client-sponsored work to tackle questions that may be too big, too complex, or too new for our clients to address.

Current clients can learn more about their projects from the relevant RAND business contacts.
