Jose Castillo

Biography
Jose Castillo is a Ph.D. candidate at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. He has an M.P.P. from the University of Chicago-University of Chile cooperative program, a master's degree in economics and finance of aging from Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and a B.A. in economics from ESPOL in Ecuador. As an adviser to Chile's undersecretary of labor, Castillo helped reform the unemployment insurance system by developing a labor vulnerability indicator. He was also an analyst in Chile's Ministry of Finance, implementing reforms to the country's pension system. His interests include labor and social protection policies, educational policies, and randomized evaluations.
