Biography

Sam Drabble is an associate analyst in RAND Europe's Evaluation and Performance Management research area. Prior to joining RAND in 2010, Drabble was a research assistant at the Institute for Govenment (IfG), an independent charity working to improve government effectiveness. Whilst at IfG he worked with the learning and development team on a variety of projects, and published research on the challenges of being an effective minister. He has an M.A. in European studies from Kings College London, where his thesis examined interests and values in the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), through the lens of the second Russo-Chechen conflict. Drabble's research interests include population, migration, and European immigration policy; public sector evaluations; and behavioural studies. He is experienced in a range of qualitative research techniques including systematic literature reviews. Drabble completed a traineeship with Group I (Employers' Group) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels, and has a B.A. (Class I) in arts combined from Durham University, where he specialised in 20th century continental philosophy.
