Overview

Yool Kim is a senior engineer at the RAND Corporation and serves as associate director of the Force Modernization and Employment Program within RAND Project AIR FORCE. She is also a member of the Pardee RAND Graduate School faculty. She conducts space policy research on topics spanning space launch, space acquisition, international space cooperation, commercial space, responsive space, space command and control, and space operations. Kim also served as a space policy analyst in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy, focusing on international space cooperation.

Prior to joining RAND, she was a senior engineer at Orbital Sciences Corporation where she worked on a range of civil and commercial space programs, including imagery and communications systems. Kim holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
