Biography

Svitlana Kobzar is an associate analyst at RAND Europe and a junior research fellow at Wolfson College, the University of Cambridge. At RAND, Kobzar has worked on projects that used such methods as interviews, comparative case studies, impact assessments, and rapid evidence assessments. Her research has focused on governance in the post-Communist region, the European Neighbourhood Policy as well as broader issues pertaining to security, democratisation, migration, border management, and international negotiations. As the junior research fellow, she is researching some aspects of migration, including security and legal dimensions of EU's readmission agreements with third countries. Kobzar is also a founder of the Forgotten Children of Eastern Europe, a non-for-profit organisation based in the US that both provides aid to orphans as well as sponsors students who volunteer in Eastern Europe. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Cambridge.
