Nelly Mejia Gonzalez is a Ph.D. candidate at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. She has a B.A. in economics from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics in Mexico City, where she was also a research and teaching assistant. Mejia worked as an economist in Mexico's Ministry of Social Development, where she was involved in the design, diagnosis, and evaluation of the country's social programs. Prior to enrolling at PRGS, Mejia was a database specialist consultant at UNICEF Mexico, where she analyzed the variables behind the economic and sociodemographic conditions of children living in poverty. Her interests include economic development.
