Christine E. Peterson
As a senior research associate at RAND, Christine Peterson is the data manager for the Displaced New Orleans Residents Survey (DNORS) and Director of Data Management for the Los Angeles Family and Neighborhood Survey (LAFANS), a large scale, multi-wave household and individual survey of families in Los Angeles County sponsored by NICHD. She is also working with a RAND sociologist in preparing a U.S. Census tract-level database of neighborhood characteristics generated from the 2000 Census and the ACS 2005-2009 five-year estimates for a project on neighborhood effects on cognitive decline that is using the respondents from the Health and Retirement Survey (HRS), and is involved in a follow-up Matlab Health and Socioeconomic Survey (MHSS-2) in Bangladesh that began fieldwork in fall 2012, under a project out of the University of Colorado.
Through RAND Labor and Population, Peterson provides on-going data support for the Malaysian Family Life and Indonesian Family Life Surveys, the Guatemalan Survey of Family Health, and the Matlab Health and Socio-Economic Survey. She has also analyzed survey responses for quality of retrospective data and worked on studies of the elderly, fertility-related issues, vocational training, and military manpower.
