Overview

Biography

Helen Wu is an assistant policy analyst at the RAND Corporation. Her current research focuses on the impact of the built environment on public health, particularly in the area of food and nutrition. Her work also includes projects in international health care, public health preparedness, health care reform, and medical innovation. Wu has worked in the policy, research, delivery, and administrative sectors of health care. Previously, she managed the quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance activities for New York-Presbyterian Hospital's Ambulatory Care Network. She also served as program director at the National Quality Forum in Washington, D.C., where she led projects to drive national health system improvement through standardized performance measurement and public reporting.

Wu is an experienced policy analyst and program manager with substantive knowledge of both health system and public health issues, and technical proficiency in a diverse set of analytical tools. She has 12 years of experience across the research, health care delivery, national and state policy, and hospital management settings. She expects to complete her dissertation, titled "What's on the Menu? Exploring the Restaurant Industry's Role in Obesity," in early 2012.
