The RAND Alumni Association was established in 1992 as an independent organization. Its primary purpose is to provide a forum for social and professional activities of former and current RANDites. Since then, we have grown from the first 100 Charter Members to more than 2,000 strong, across the United States and around the world. Every three years, a 12-member volunteer Board of Directors is elected to guide and govern the Association, with support provided by RAND's Development Office.

Natalie Crawford Elected RAA President
In January 2009, the RAND Alumni Association (RAA) welcomed new president Natalie Crawford during its annual board meeting. Retiring after two terms as president, Herb Shukiar was presented with an acrylic sculpture created by Los Angeles-based artist Vasa Mihich before officially passing his responsibilities to Natalie. Lynn Anderson will continue to serve as vice president.
In addition to Natalie and Lynn, newly elected board members, who serve a three-year term, are Carol Abrams, Jackie Berman, Glenda Callanen, Steve Drezner, Suzy Goulet, Mario Juncosa, Louise Martin, Lee Meyer, Malcolm Palmatier, Tony Pascal, and Lou Rowell. Traditionally, the RAA limits its board to 12 members, but there was a tie in the member-wide vote. As in the previous election in 2005, a tie vote resulted in the election of a 13th member to the board.
RAA volunteer committee chairs are Lynn and Suzy for the Alumni Bulletin; Carol and Lee for alumni events in Santa Monica and Washington, respectively; Louise and Lou for membership; Glenda for the nominating committee; and Louise for the RAA Web site.
Also participating in the meeting were Karen Jenkins, Dave Tillipman, and David Tseklenis of the Development Office.
