Behavioral Health Need and Access to Behavioral Health Care in the District of Columbia
This project will provide the District of Columbia with a clearer picture of the prevalence of mental health and substance abuse issues among residents; how its behavioral health services are organized and financed; and where gaps exist in the public delivery system. Recommendations will be developed for improving the behavioral health service delivery system.
Enhancing Quality Improvement Capacity in LA County Department of Health
PI: Debra Lotstein
The goal of this project is to enhance quality improvement capacity in the LA County Dept. of Public Health by integrating and applying an evidence-based approach across the department.
Task Order for Development of a Blueprint for Health Cost Containment
PI: Elizabeth A. McGlynn
RAND will help the Massachusetts Division of Health Care Finance and Policy develop a blueprint for health care cost containment. The blueprint will involve a framework for examining the range of policy levers, including changes to state regulatory authority, payment rules, health services delivery, the existing health care workforce and increased use of health information technology.
Low Health Literacy in Missouri
PI: Laurie Martin
This project is currently developing an interactive tool that will allow the stakeholder to simultaneously map health literacy as well as data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and quality of care data from local health-plans and Medicaid. These maps can them be used to help local decision makers determine appropriate, targeted actions in Missouri hotspots to address poor quality care and disparities in care related to health literacy, linguistic isolation or limited English proficiency.
