Helping Humana Identify Disparities in Care

A project to estimate the race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status of Humana plan members and provide Humana with the tools needed to develop and use these estimates to identify disparities in care.

Predicting Outcomes for Cancer Treatment

A project in collaboration with UCLA and CanCORS to generate an epidemiologically sound data set for studying care as it is currently delivered to newly diagnosed lung and colorectal cancer patients and to use the pooled data set to understand the relative importance of various sociodemographic predictors of patient outcomes.

Evaluating the Impact of Playground Renovations on Physical Activity Behavior Among Youth

A project evaluating both the process used by the Trust for Public Land to renovate three parks in San Francisco–one serving a diverse neighborhood with pockets of low-income public housing, one serving a largely minority population with a great number of children, and one serving a diverse population with very low income living in the densest neighborhood in San Francisco–and the impact of those renovations on physical activity behavior among youth.
