Violence Prevention and Intervention for Youth

Helping Traumatized Children

A study to adapt the Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) technique developed at RAND for use by regular school staff (such as school counselors) and to develop an implementation support program and planning tool so that CBITS can be used effectively in the average middle school setting.

Preventing Violent Behavior

A study to see if the Getting To Outcomes™ capacity building model leads to better implementation of an evidence-based high school violence prevention program (Too Good for Drugs and Violence) and results in decreased violent behaviors.

Safe Start National Evaluation

An evaluation of 15 programs across the nation, funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, that use evidence-based interventions to ameliorate the negative effects of violence on children ages 0 to 18. The programs target exposure to domestic violence, community violence, and direct abuse.
