About the ICJ
ICJ Supporters
The ICJ takes pride in surpassing the standards and reach of traditional legal scholarship. That is what we must do to offer the policy community truly new insights into the workings and consequences of the civil legal system. Conducting such empirical research--and doing so independently of bias and influence--requires significant resources.
Often, to run our studies, we survey many system participants, conduct numerous interviews, scour public and private data sources, code results scientifically, and construct whole new databases where none existed before.
Getting the story right and communicating results clearly is an intensive process. ICJ development works to secure the essential resources for our staff of world-class researchers to pursue the Institute's mission.
The ICJ is fortunate to have the support of a broad spectrum of stakeholders who recognize the impact legal policy decisions have on our economy and society. And by investing in our work, they share in our commitment to better understand the civil legal environment.
We greatly appreciate the individuals, corporations, and foundations that have contributed to the ICJ and its projects. Our preeminent standing as a source of quality research findings among the nation's civil justice policymakers reflects their generosity and vision.
