Characterization of Self-Employment Assistance Programs

Project Leaders: Lyn Karoly, Julie Zissimopoulos

The project will research and document all public and private programs designed to promote self-employment and businesses ownership with a focus on understanding how programs vary by state or locality, how they began and how they changed over time. The project will also conduct a comprehensive review of research examining the relationship between programs designed to assist entrepreneurship and employment outcomes and will compile a complete list of existing data that may be used to empirically examine the effects of various public and private programs on employment.
