CAPP Welcomes New Advisory Board Member Donald Tang

Donald Tang, Senior Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. and Chairman, Bear Stearns Asia, became the newest member of the CAPP Advisory Board on March 10, 2003. He had visited RAND earlier in the month.

Tang joined Bear, Stearns & Co. in 1992 . In 1993, he was transferred to Hong Kong to become President and Chief Executive Officer of Bear Stearns Asia, where he built and managed the firm's four offices in Asia. He assumed his current position in August 2002. Prior to his career with Bear, Stearns and Co., Tang held senior positions at Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. He is the recipient of United Way's 2002-2003 "Spirit of Los Angeles" Award and a "40 Under 40" Designation for the year 2000-2001 by Crain's Chicago Business Magazine for reaching the height of his career while under 40 years of age.

Tang completed his undergraduate work at the East China Institute of Technology in Shanghai and Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, California. He received a B.S. in chemical engineering from California State University, Polytechnic of Pomona, California in 1986.
