CAPP Holds Conference on Chinese Economic Trends

The RAND Center for Asia Pacific Policy, in conjunction with the Asia Society Southern California, co-hosted a half-day conference on January 27 entitled "Chinese Economic Trends: What Do They Mean For Investment, Trade, and Finance?" at the University of Southern California. William Overholt, the Asia Policy Chair, moderated the event.

Other participants included keynote speaker Minister Lan Lijun, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy in the U.S.; Consul General Zhong Jian Hua of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles; Mr. Daniel Fung, Senior Counsel at the Hong Kong Bar and former Hong Kong Solicitor-General; Professor Harry Harding from George Washington University; Professor Barry Naughton from the University of California, San Diego; Mr. John Pomfret from the Washington Post; and Mr. Peter Waller from Threesixty Sourcing.
