Welcome to the Supply Chain Policy Center

The RAND Supply Chain Policy Center (SCPC) conducts research that helps the public and private sectors address critical issues in freight transportation to the U.S., North American, and international economies. The SCPC is member-funded and derives its strength from RAND Corporation's nearly 60 years of experience addressing policy issues of global importance through objective analysis in collaboration with industry partners who are leaders in international freight transportation, manufacturing, and retail.

The transportation and global logistics industries have problems of enormous complexity that are amenable to solution through research and development, yet analysis has not been a high priority in this field. Because problems like congestion and security affect all firms and agencies, all could benefit from lively analysis focused on innovations that benefit many. RAND Corporation is known for its quality research programs in support of public policy in complex fields and has a long history of conducting analysis that is on one hand independent and on the other guided by the concerns of its business partners.
