Developed and analyzed census tract level information on demand for social services (e.g., poverty rates and proportion of the population under 18) and the availability of social services for families and children in Los Angeles County, immediately prior to the implementation of Los Angeles County's CalWORKs program, with the intent of providing a solid baseline against which changes in demand and in availability of social services can be measured as CalWORKs is implemented.
