Helping California Counties Reform Social Services

Time Period: April 1, 1997 - May 31, 1998

Formulated and implemented a research and technical assistance program to meet the needs of county, nonprofit, and private-sector agencies and organizations supporting welfare reform in California. Surveyed the welfare reform plans for all 58 California counties, as well as several projects focused on Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. In Los Angeles County, worked with the County's Welfare Reform Ad Hoc Committee on Child Care (WRAHCCC) to provide estimates of the potential need for child care among the County's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), transitional, and low-income families through 2002.
