Can Economic Openness Inspire Corporate Governance in Emerging Economies?

Project Leader: Lisa Klautzer

This sequence of projects aims to identify the specific micro- and macroeconomic drivers of corporate governance in emerging economies, with a focus on Asian countries. In particularly we will assess if there is a link between economic openness and corporate governance, and if the co-occurrence of other country- or firm-specific factors increasing the impact that economic openness has on the corporate governance. In doing so a first step is the identification of existing measurements of corporate governance that can be used for the subsequent econometric analysis.
