About the Speaker
Dr. Vlahov is Director for the Center for Urban Epidemiologic Studies at the New York Academy of Medicine and Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the Joseph L. Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, with an adjunct appointment in Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Dr. Vlahov is also principal investigator of a CDC Urban Research Center to study the social determinants of health with an emphasis on the impact of substance abuse in the community in Harlem, in collaboration with the community groups, government and academic partners.
