The Los Angeles Family and Neighborhood Survey (L.A.FANS) is a longitudinal study of families in Los Angeles County and of the neighborhoods in which they live. This documentation covers the first wave of L.A.FANS. Fieldwork for Wave 1 was begun in April 2000 and was completed in January 2002. The second wave is scheduled for 2004-2005.
