Building Partnerships to Protect Europe's Information Infrastructures
Devising policies to protect Europe's information infrastructures will require new modes of partnership across commercial sectors and across national borders. Ways need to be found of engaging all actors and encouraging them to work together to secure information infrastructures through enlightened self-interest. A particularly pressing requirement is to promote information sharing, especially to provide early warning of cyber-threats. This paper outlines European approaches to building partnerships and details current and future steps that are taken to build information sharing and warning mechanisms at national, European and international levels. The paper seeks to engage all relevant stakeholders, public and private sector, in building the necessary partnerships.
