Invariant Imbedding and Diffuse Reflection from a Two-Dimensional Flat Layer

One in a series of mathematical investigations dealing with problems of radiative transfer in the atmosphere. This Memorandum derives the angular distribution of radiation diffusely reflected by an inhomogeneous, plane-parallel, nonemitting, and anisotropically scattering atmosphere of finite thickness.
