RAND Chief Technology Officer Siddhartha Dalal Presents at Qatar Computing Research Institute Seminar
"Revolutionizing Policy Analysis with Information Analytics" is the topic of a lecture by Siddhartha Dalal, chief technology officer at RAND, on Dec. 12, 2011, in the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) Seminar Series.
Dalal's presentation, which is open to the public, will take place at 6 p.m. in the QCRI headquarters building in Doha. Visit the QCRI site for more information.
To help organizations optimize their processes for managing and mining digital data, Dalal will explain how RAND uses social interaction models, information analytics, web technologies, and other methods to convert research data into manageable information for analysis. He also will highlight current RAND research projects, illustrating how technology applications can help to improve processes and produce meaningful public policy recommendations.
Dalal, who joined RAND in 2007 after working at Xerox and Bell Laboratories, has a doctorate in statistics and an M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Rochester.
QCRI conducts multidisciplinary computing research for Qatar and the Arab region as well as worldwide, with an emphasis on Arabic language technologies, social and scientific computing, cloud computing, and data analytics. QCRI is a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
