OverviewThe conference included four elements: (1) separate panel discussions onthe interactions between information technologies and energy use, theinfluence of building design on worker productivity and energy use, andthe value of examining energy supply and use as part of broader economicand social systems; (2) several keynote speakers who addressed emergingeconomic trends and their implications for energy supply and use; (3)results of an expert elicitation of national leaders in industry,academia, and government, known as a modified Delphi process, toascertain their individual views of energy issues likely to besignificant in 2020; and (4) an open forum for conference participantsto identify their views of significant research priorities. This Web site is the official record of the E-Vision 2000 conference. Itconsists of three major pieces of documentation: (1) a summary ofconference proceedings; (2) complete transcripts of the two-dayconference; and (3) commissioned papers in the topic areas of the threeconference panel discussions, an analysis of energy scenarios, and asummary of the Delphi process. |
