The Netherlands has been a historic locus of RAND research, having once served as the headquarters of RAND Europe—RAND's independently chartered European subsidiary—from its founding in the mid-1990s through 2006. Research on the Netherlands continues to focus on defense and infrastructure projects, as well as transportation and health care.
