Despite a growing policy focus on leadership in health research and health care settings, there is very little evidence on the effectiveness of leadership as a health and science policy intervention. RAND Europe aims to help address this gap, through sharing insights from the evaluation of the NIHR Leadership Programme. The NIHR Leadership Programme was established in 2009 to develop the leadership skills and capabilities of current and future NIHR researchers. RAND Europe was commissioned to undertake a 2-year real time evaluation of the programme.
