Overview

Damien Baveye is a doctoral candidate at the Pardee RAND Graduate School and an assistant policy analyst at RAND. He is a former enlisted U.S. Navy Corpsman and holds a B.S. in political science from the United States Naval Academy.

During his commissioned service in the U.S. Navy, Baveye served in a variety of engineering roles aboard a Mine Countermeasures Crew and an Amphibious Assault Ship. His capstone assignment was as the Future Operations Officer, Mission Planner, and Battle Watch Captain for a Coronado-based Naval Special Warfare team as well as an overseas Joint Special Operations Task Force.

Prior to coming to Pardee RAND, Baveye worked for Booz Allen Hamilton as a senior consultant to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) program office for Computer Network Defense (PMW 130). His research interests include machine-learning, irregular warfare, special operations, cyber warfare, and big-data solutions to national intelligence production.
