Overview

Matt DeNardo (he/him) is an associate physical scientist at the RAND Corporation. Since joining RAND in 2019, DeNardo has been involved with a wide range of national security and domestic research projects on cost analysis, technology evaluation, technology development, logistics, supply chain, and security for both national and international clients. DeNardo has also authored whitepapers on subjects of broad interest to both researchers and policymakers. Before RAND, he spent time in the startup world, working in several small teams on the commercialization of technologies that were developed within, and outside of, university settings. This followed a postdoctoral appointment in which he co-authored scientific publications, reviewed submitted manuscripts for journals, edited theses, and served as the primary author of shortlisted and funded grant applications. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, this followed the receipt of a B.S. in chemistry with a certificate in biological sciences from the University of Pittsburgh.
