Joshua Fields is a Ph.D. student in the Research, Analysis, and Design stream at Pardee RAND and an assistant policy researcher at RAND. Fields has a B.S. in history from the United States Air Force Academy, where he also completed a minor in nuclear weapons and strategy. He conducted extensive research into the role of nuclear weapons in foreign policy and the effects of great power competition on international affairs. His research interests include international relations, national security, and the role of technology in military affairs. His designated career field is Space Force Intelligence.
