Daniel Gehrt is a research leader at RAND Europe focusing on innovation, health, and science. His research interests are broad, but he has a specific interest in the analysis of policies and dynamics related to eco-innovation.
Prior to joining RAND Europe, Gehrt worked for almost nine years as project manager with the Joint Institute for Innovation Policy (JIIP), a Brussels-based policy research organisation with a clear focus on research and innovation policies.
Gehrt holds an M.A. in international relations from King’s College London, and a B.A. in European studies from Trinity College Dublin. Furthermore, he holds a Certificat d’Études Politiques à Titre Étranger from Sciences Po Bordeaux and has done extensive postgraduate coursework on evaluation of public policies at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research and Université Catholique de Louvain. Besides English and his native language of German, Gehrt has full professional proficiency in French and good understanding of Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.
