Eric Hastings is an assistant policy researcher at RAND and a Ph.D candidate at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. He is also a U.S. Air Force officer. Prior to joining Pardee RAND, he was an assistant professor in the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Department of Mathematical Sciences, where he taught differential and multivariate calculus and statistics.

Hastings has an M.S. in operations research from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and a B.A. in mathematics from Duquesne University.  His research interests include multivariate analysis, modeling and simulation, and optimization studies related to the Air Force, criminal justice, and education.
