Overview

Megan Hughes (she/her) is an analyst focusing on defence and security at RAND Europe. She has worked on a range of projects utilising qualitatitve, quantitative, and futures methodologies such as horizon scanning, literature reviews, semi-structured interviews, and bibliometric analysis. Recent work includes assessments on the impact of emerging technologies for the UK Ministry of Defence and the development of a research agenda on conflict prevention and peacebuilding for the United Nations Development Programme.

Prior to joining RAND Europe, she completed an M.A. in international security and terrorism at the University of Birmingham. Her research background is in the field of security studies, with particular focus on terrorism and political violence and ethnic conflict.
