Pavan Katkar is a doctoral student at the Pardee RAND Graduate School and an assistant policy researcher at RAND. Before coming to RAND, he worked as a project officer at the Centre for Technology and Policy at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He holds an M.A. in science and security from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London and a bachelor's in engineering in the field of information science from the National Institute of Engineering, India. Katkar's research interests include technology-policy, cyber security policy, and macroeconomics. He is currently studying the policy implications of the blockchain technology and its associated cryptocurrencies like bitcoins and others.
