Felix Knutson is an assistant policy researcher at RAND and a Ph.D. candidate at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. He is a distinguished graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in mathematics and a minor in Russian.

While at the Air Force Academy, he participated in an exchange program in Tbilisi, Georgia, and helped lead a language immersion program in Riga, Latvia. He also did research with Air Force Space Command to write a genetic algorithm in MATLAB to determine the optimal spacing for GPS satellites. After his time at RAND, he will serve as an operations research analyst in the Air Force. His research interests include modeling and simulation, defense, infrastructure and transportation, U.S.–Eastern European relations, and LGBT populations.
