Ignacio Lara is a Ph.D. student at the Pardee RAND Graduate School and an assistant policy researcher at RAND. His research interests include optimization and machine learning applications in homeland defense, disaster preparedness and emergency response, and wargaming future concepts for close air support in near-peer conflicts.
Prior to joining Pardee RAND, he was the modeling and simulation lead on an Air Mobility Command/A5Q–sponsored project to support the development and validation of requirements for the Air Force’s executive airlift fleet. He has a B.S. in operations research from the United States Air Force Academy and is a student in Pardee RAND's Research, Analysis, and Design stream.
