Overview

Duncan Long (he/him) is a senior defense analyst at the RAND Corporation. He works primarily on studies supporting the Army. He has served as principal investigator for studies on linking Army resources to readiness, on the Army's implementation of Category Management, on the Army's Lead Materiel Integrator initiative, on Theater Provided Equipment, on Army Prepositioned Stocks, and on Army Non-Standard Equipment. Other work has addressed Army force sizing, the cost of Army forces, capabilities development, requirements documentation and readiness reporting. Prior to coming to RAND in 2007, he worked at the Center for Technology and National Security Policy at the National Defense University. Long holds a BA in History with honors from Stanford University and an MA in International Affairs from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs.
