Madeline Magnuson is a research assistant at the RAND Corporation, where she works on issues of national security, the Middle East, and social media and information operations. Her research frequently leverages Arabic social media and both qualitative and quantitative text analytics to inform analyses of local sentiment, regional trends, and global networks.

She graduated in 2013 with a degree in Government from Harvard University, where she focused on Modern Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. She has also honed her Arabic skills through study abroad with the American University in Cairo, Egypt, and with the Critical Language Scholarship program in Ibri, Oman.
