Kevin Martin is a research assistant at RAND Europe working in the areas of defence, security, and infrastructure. His interests cover a range of security, defence and foreign affairs, including EU capability development, military deployments, terrorist activities, and hybrid threats.

Prior to joining RAND, he worked for the French Ministry of Defence as an advisor for the French Military Representative to the EU. He has dealt with security and political developments in Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Mediterranean. In addition, he has elaborated analysis for high-level officials on EU Strategic Autonomy and the EU Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).

He holds masters degrees  in international and European studies from University Sorbonne-Nouvelle and in European political and governance studies from the College of Europe. Whilst honing a specialisation in foreign affairs, he has mostly dedicated his academic research to the European Defence Policy.
