Christine Peterson is an adjunct technical analyst at the RAND Corporation. She is the data manager for the Displaced New Orleans Residents Survey (DNORS) and Director of Data Management for the Los Angeles Family and Neighborhood Survey (LAFANS), a large scale, multi-wave household and individual survey of families in Los Angeles County sponsored by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. She has prepared two U.S. contextual databases (one at Census tract-level and one at school district level) generated from the decennial Census and the ACS five-year estimates covering more than a decade. Under a project out of the University of Colorado, Peterson has been involved with the follow-up Matlab Health and Socioeconomic Survey (MHSS-2) in Bangladesh. Building on work done with the LAFANS, she helped produce scales and scores for the 2014 Child Development Supplement (CDS) of the PSID and performed similar work for the first two waves of the CDS to provide compatibility across waves.

Through RAND Social and Economic Well-Being, Peterson provides on-going external data support for the Indonesian Family Life and Malaysian Family Life Surveys, the Guatemalan Survey of Family Health, the Matlab Health and Socio-Economic Survey, plus the DNORS and LAFANS. She has also analyzed survey responses for quality of retrospective data and worked on studies of the elderly, fertility-related issues, vocational training, and military manpower.
