Associate Director, Data Science and Technology Group; Senior Research Data Scientist; Professor of Policy Analysis, RAND School of Public Policy
Eric Robinson is a senior research data scientist at RAND, where his research focuses on special operations, great power conflict, and defense strategy issues related to competition, coercion, and irregular warfare. He leads a range of projects on these issues for sponsors in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, and various components of U.S. Special Operations Command.
He concurrently serves as an Associate Director of RAND's Data Science and Technology Group and as a Professor of Policy Analysis at the RAND School of Public Policy.
Outside of RAND, he previously served as a civil servant and head of the state competition team in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict, and as a policy advisor to the commander of U.S. and NATO special operations in Afghanistan based in Kabul. Before joining RAND, he worked as a consultant in IBM's advanced analytics practice in Washington, DC. He holds a Masters of Public Policy and an A.B. in economics from the College of William & Mary.
