Mirka Vuollo is an adjunct research associate and project coordinator at RAND. She is currently working on two multi-year projects evaluating the effectiveness of principal training and school leadership pipeline initiatives in several school districts nationwide. Prior to RAND, Vuollo worked for UCLA Extension, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva, Switzerland and in Africa, as well as for the Finnish Foreign Ministry in Helsinki, Finland.

She has an M.A. in political science from the University of Cologne in Germany. Vuollo is trilingual in Finnish, German, and English, and has a working knowledge of Swedish and French. Areas of interest include international education, education reform, international development, and human rights.
