Alumni Impact Fund Appeal From Lynn Davis

We are all RAND alumni from the moment we walk through the door as employees or students of the Pardee RAND Graduate School. We are all united by our time at RAND and belief that RAND is making the world a better place. I write to you today as the beneficiary of RAND's first Alumni Impact Fund (AIF) campaign. Michael McNerney and I are grateful to have been chosen by AIF donors to receive funding that helped extend the impact of our analysis on the use of armed drones. The 2014 AIF funds came at a crucial point, allowing us to put the recommendations of our report, Armed and Dangerous? UAVs and U.S. Security, in the hands of decisionmakers just as the Obama administration was weighing the sale of drones to U.S. allies. Our outreach efforts—and the subsequent outside funding we received for a follow on report—would not have been possible without the generosity of RAND alumni like you.
