Voices from the RAND Family

Debra Granfield, Susan Rice, Beverly Rowen (shown with her husband, former RAND president Harry Rowen), and Darlene Thomson each have a relationship with RAND that spans more than half of RAND's 65-year history—they've not only witnessed profound changes in the organization over several decades; they're all also longtime supporters of RAND who have enjoyed staying connected. Alumni Trustees and the RAND President's Council

RAND's president and CEO Michael Rich announced the creation of the RAND President's Council, a leadership group of forward-thinking and generous individuals (including Rita Hauser, pictured) who have recently made significant philanthropic contributions to support important initiatives at RAND and the Pardee RAND Graduate School. George Tanham's Surprising Civil War History

Lee Meyer shares some interesting history about Fisher's Hill, a farm owned by her first RAND boss, George Tanham. While it is not a well-known site like Gettysburg or Antietam, the Battle of Fisher's Hill was part of a string of battles fought in the Shenandoah Valley in the late summer and fall of 1864.
