Announcing the 2015 Alumni Impact Fund

Earlier this month, Michael Rich and Natalie Crawford launched RAND’s second Alumni Impact Fund. The fund reflects Michael’s focus on impact as a critical priority for RAND.

In a letter he sent earlier this month to alumni, he wrote, “I want decisionmakers the world over to use our research and analysis to improve the well-being of individuals and communities, enhance the security of society, and strengthen key public and private institutions.”

The Alumni Impact Fund is an opportunity for the entire RAND family to extend the impact of our research and analysis. Last year's campaign was a huge success and, thanks to alumni donors, raised more than $100,000 in just six months. The funds were directed, based on votes by each contributor, to extending the impact of two projects—one, on the use of long-range armed drones; the other, on the effects of potential changes to the Affordable Care Act.

Energized by last year's results, we hope to match its success once again. You can read more about the fund and become a contributor at haveimpact.rand.org. When we reach our goal of $100,000, all contributors will again have the chance to vote on which projects to support.
