Pardee RAND Launches Master's Degree Program

For the first time since its founding in 1970, the Pardee RAND Graduate School has a new degree program: the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in policy analysis. The school recently welcomed five new scholars—the inaugural master's cohort—as part of Pardee RAND's 2022 cohort, which includes 22 accomplished students who hail from across the United States and six countries around the world.

To date, students have received an M.Phil. after completing the initial requirements of the Ph.D. program, but now they can pursue an M.Phil. on its own. The M.Phil. program is 21 months, which provides students with the flexibility to further their education without committing the approximately five years needed to complete the Ph.D. program. M.Phil. candidates receive research fellowships and scholarships to help cover the cost of tuition.

Both the M.Phil. and Ph.D. in policy analysis at Pardee RAND offer students an opportunity to combine advanced coursework with on-the-job training as integral members of RAND research teams, applying their skills to real-world challenges.
