Paddock Named Fellow of the American Statistical Association

The American Statistical Association (ASA) named Susan Paddock as a 2013 ASA Fellow. A maximum of one-third of one percent of the ASA's membership are named ASA Fellows each year. Paddock was honored for excellence in statistical applications to public policy research, for integrating innovative statistical methodology with substantive problems of national healthcare policy, and for noteworthy service to the profession. She will be awarded a certificate at a ceremony August 6 at the annual Joint Statistical Meetings in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Since coming to RAND in 1999, Paddock has conducted policy research in the areas of health care quality, substance use and mental health treatment, drug policy, and Medicare. Her statistical research includes developing methods for the analysis of data from group therapy intervention studies and for improving public reports of healthcare provider performance.
