Event Details
Despite 20 years of significant compliance activities by industry under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines (FSG), the headlines continue to reflect ample examples of corporate crime and prosecution, irresponsible behavior, and catastrophic risk-taking. On May 16, 2012, CCEG hosted an invitation-only symposium event to facilitate discussion on questions about how to build stronger ethical cultures within corporations and what the optimal role of government policy is in this regard.
Participants considered how successful the organizational provisions of the FSG actually have been in achieving their desired aim; what boards, executives, and chief ethics and compliance officers can do to build stronger corporate cultures and better safeguards against illegal and unethical behavior; and what policymakers should be doing to support more progress in the private sector. Conference proceedings will be produced following the event.
