Healthy employees spend less on health care, take fewer sick days, and are more productive. This is the thinking behind the burgeoning $6 billion workplace wellness industry in the United States.

However, while participating in a wellness program yields health benefits, especially with regard to smoking and weight, getting people to participate in the programs is a challenge. Additionally, not all wellness programs are created equal.
